    AGE GROUP DESIGNATION MATRIX

  • There is no cost to attend a Monmouth United tryout or evaluation.

    • Dark top (e.g., navy or black) – should not reflect branding for any youth soccer programs/clubs/academies, including MUSC or MDS

    • Soccer cleats or turf shoes

    • Shin guards

    • Age-appropriate soccer ball (ages 6-11: size 4, ages 12+: size 5)

    • Water or sports drink

    • Players will be given a numbered identification bib at check-in on day 1 of tryouts – please remember to wear this same bib to tryout day 2

    • Remember to dress appropriately for the weather

    • Plan to arrive 20 minutes before your scheduled tryout to leave ample time for check-in/warmup.

    • Upon arrival, players should head to the Monmouth United tent where our staff will be checking them in and providing them with numbered player identification bibs to be affixed to the front of their shirts. Please remember to wear the bib received on tryout day 1 for tryout day 2.

    • Once checked in, players may warm up in any area away from any active tryout sessions.

    • Parents/spectators are welcome to stay to watch but should remain off the fields.

  • While there is no dedicated goalkeeper tryout, goalkeepers will be pulled out for a portion of their age group’s tryout session to be evaluated. To aid in this process:

    • During online tryout registration - please identify goalkeepers when asked.

    • During tryout sessions - any goalkeepers should identify as such when asked by trainers to ensure evaluation.

  • Should inclement weather become a factor, we will communicate any schedule changes via email.

Remember to dress appropriately for the weather.

  • All offers will be extended via email within approximately two weeks of tryout/evaluation.

Offers should remain confidential and be responded to within 48 hours of receipt.

Once an offer is presented, a player will only be considered as accepted after initial deposit has been paid - this enables us to provide other interested members with accurate information on how many players are confirmed for each team’s roster.

  • MUSC’s 2026-27 season will commence in July with summer training likely held 1x/week for 6 weeks, and late-August pre-season mini camps (4 consecutive days of 90-minute training sessions) - we aim to share this schedule in mid-June.

We expect to have fall training details available to share sometime in August, with weekend league games commencing in early September.
